Grounding with your five senses

Do you sometimes feel so overwhelmed that your body takes over?

You may notice that you feel tense and panicky. Your breathing may become fast and shallow and sometimes it can feel like you either want to fight or run!

Knowing what to do if you find these feelings overwhelming can really help.

  • Breathe deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth
  • Slowly look look around you and find ……

This exercise is called ‘Grounding’ – it can help when you feel overwhelmed.

You can use this;

  • FOR PRE EXAM PANIC
  • WHEN YOU’RE FEELING SUPER DISTRESSED
  • IF YOU’RE FEELING SCARED
  • IF YOUR MIND IS RACING AND THINKING OF ALL OF THE ‘THINGS’ ALL AT THE SAME TIME
