Has someone at home ever hurt, frightened or controlled another person in your family? Even if the abuse wasn’t directed at you, it can still affect how you feel, think and cope day to day. Rising Sun provides specialist support for children and young people aged 5-18 who have been affected by domestic abuse, helping them make sense of their experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Support may include counselling, mentoring or creative therapies such as art-based activities. Young people can explore difficult feelings, understand the impact domestic abuse has had on them, build confidence and develop healthy ways to cope. The service aims to help young people feel safer, strengthen their emotional wellbeing and build positive relationships with others.
Whether you’re feeling anxious, struggling with confidence, finding school difficult, or carrying worries about things that have happened at home, Rising Sun can provide specialist support to help you move forward and feel more in control.
