Feeling secure is one of the 6 key areas in your life that can make a difference to how you cope with life’s ups and downs.
This is all about how secure you feel, within yourself, your relationships and the places where you spend a lot of time. It’s about the bonds you have with your family and important people in your life. It’s also about the places you feel safe.
It is normal for family members to not get on all the time.
If you feel that your family relationships are getting you down, or need to improve how secure you feel; maybe your home doesn’t feel safe, you may want to:
- Try to start a conversation with your parents about how you are feeling
- Talk to another adult you trust about how you are feeling
- Write down what it is about your family or home that is causing you to feel down or anxious.
- Spend some time thinking about what situations or difficulties make you feel uncomfortable and then focus on what might make them better.
