Tips on managing anger
- Walk away and calm down
- Take steady breaths. Focus on exhaling slowly
- Count to 20 or more until you feel more calm
- Use I-message or other direct message and say what you need now and how you want to be treated
- Take a break and use a calming tool like a stress ball
- Push against the wall or floor and then relax
- Move, exercise, stretch, do yoga or play sport
- Scribble on paper, then crumple it up and throw it away
