Health

Your health is really important to take care of, especially when you are young. This includes:

  • Physical health
  • Mental health
  • Social wellbeing

Taking care of your physical health when you are young means you are less likely to encounter problems as you get older such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.

Taking care of your mental health is just as important, which is why we encourage people to always talk to others, a parent, friend or even a doctor, about problems they might be facing, or emotions they may be feeling.

Here are some of our quick top tips about how to look after your health.

Just One More

You can improve your health really easily by following the “just one more” rule. Reflect on what you usually eat in a day and try and add just one more piece of fruit or veg. Even if you only eat one piece in the first place, just eat one more. If you are feeling tired during the day, then try and go to sleep just one hour earlier. You could try to drink just one more glass of water a day. Just add one more healthy change to your day and you will be on your way to a healthier you!

Only Eat When You’re Hungry

Try not to eat just because you’re bored or stressed. Instead of this, try and do something productive. Why not go for a walk, read a book, or talk to a friend.

Don’t Forget to Chillout and Relax

Remember, you need to take some time out to focus on YOU. This could be relaxing by listening to music, having a bath, or even watching a series or film that you like.

If you have any worries about your physical or mental health, remember you can always talk to an adult that you trust or visit your doctor. For more information and tips visit the NHS Choices website.
